I was designing a restaurant ad for a client who wanted pictures of his food on it.
Me: Here’s a mockup. Now, these photos are just placeholders because you haven’t sent the necessary content yet but they’ll change once you do.
Client: Oh geez, our boss is supposed to approve this today and he’s not going to like it without his stuff in it. And we haven’t done the photo shoot yet. Can you just like… draw the pictures real quick and stick ‘em in there? You’re a good artist, I bet he won’t even notice. And then just switch in the real pics when we get them.
Me: Draw six photo-realistic pictures of entrees just as temporary placeholders on a mockup?
Me: … How about we use some stock photos?
