I do not make apps. I’ll draw logos and design physical and digital flyers and handouts, but I don’t know anything about app creation. A client, who has no experience with app design either, came to me one day with an idea.
Client: I have a GREAT IDEA for an app! It’ll make us rich!
Me: Okay, what’s it going to do?
Client: I can’t tell you. Can you make an app for it?
Me: …Hang on. I don’t know how to make apps, and you won’t tell me what it’s for.
Client It’ll be pretty complex, and it should stand up to large amounts of traffic at once- wait, you can’t? Oh well, you can learn, can’t you? You will do this for me, right?
Me: Okay… I guess. It all depends on how much you’re willing to pay me. And if you’ll tell me what it is.
Client: Well, nothing. You’re not a professional. And it’s still a secret.
Full disclosure? This “client” was my mom.
Needless to say, the app never got made.Get the Freelance Guide for 2017
