I’ve been building a website for a client through Squarespace, and he’s proved difficult to work with.
Me: In order to make any more changes after this Wednesday, you’ll need to purchase a subscription, otherwise the trial will expire and I won’t be able to edit the site. Let me know as soon as possible if there is anything else you need added to the site. Afterwards, it should be ready for publication.
One week later, the client replied to this email – apparently without having read it.
Client: It says the website is expired, and I have heard nothing from you. Also, can I go in and play with the fonts and colors?
Me: I contacted you on Monday of last week. All the information you need is in the email you have just responded to. As for fonts and colors, I’m working with certain typefaces and color palettes that I’ve imported and created specifically for your site, so I’d prefer if you didn’t change them. Thanks.
Client: Ok.
When the site was published, I checked it one last time. I found teal uppercase Times New Roman and brown Century Gothic across the entire site.
I’m not ashamed to tell you that I actually cried.
