Client: Great, I’m afraid that we can only offer a small stipend for your work.
Me: That could work. I’m breaking into freelancing, so my rates are lower than most designers. Let’s talk about the work you want and I can see what I can do.
Client: We need a design for a 44-page print magazine. We think this will take 5-7 hours labor, and we’ll pay you $75 total.
Out of curiosity two months later, I had a look at the latest issue of their magazine. Not only was it designed terribly, there were obvious typos.
