Client: I noticed on your last invoice to me
that you charged me a late fee…
Me: Yes, as stated in our contract (which he very clearly didn’t read), a small late fee is applied to the next invoice if the payment is not received by the due date
His fee was $10 for a +$1000 bill. I gave him lots of reminders beforehand AND I agreed to give his company double the time to pay than all my other clients.
Client: I thought we had a better relationship
than that, why are you charging me extra? Let’s try to avoid that on the next
