About This File
This mod makes flashbangs and dodge flashes cause blackouts instead of white-outs. Here's one for all you heisters dwelling in darkness.
Scene:
Default flashbang glare:
Inverted flashbang glare (please note that waypoints are no longer visible as of 0.0.3 / revision 3):
Usage
Installation of the mod is straightforward - simply install the mod the same way as any other BLT mod. No configuration is necessary.
Notes
- This mod merely inverts the flashbang's glare and dodge flashes to cause them to tint the view toward black instead of white. It does not disable flashbangs, nor does it alter their duration (and don't ask me to do either of these for you - I won't)
- This mod mirrors stock game code and supercedes the game's own code completely. In other words, if OVK update the relevant game code in future (which they did in Update 79), this mod is likely to cause crashes. If you notice seemingly random crashes (possibly due to flashbangs, but you likely would not know this since it would crash even before the glare is shown) or crashes at the moment a map-triggered blinding glare would normally occur (e.g. the bus explosion on Rats Day 3, C4 wall explosion on First World Bank), this mod should be among the first you disable. I have sought ways to avoid mirroring the game's code, but all such attempts have failed, forcing me to implement this mod the way it currently is. Sorry for the inconvenience. :/ If you do notice any such behavior, notify me (Snh20) and I'll investigate it asap
-
Positional HUD elements (such as waypoints) remain visible while flashbanged, I am currently exploring ways to change this and return behavior closer to that of the default flashbang glare. It is for this reason that I have placed this mod in the Gameplay Changing Mods categoryResolved in 0.0.3 / revision 3 - This mod was requested by Shady_Love on /r/paydaytheheistmods
