IGN: Inhumans vs. X-Men #2 Review

As often as superheroes go to war with each other lately, it's nice to be reading a comic where that war actually seems justified for a change. There's no good or evil here, just two super-powered armies fighting for their very survival. And even as the action ramps up considerably in issue #2, it's heartening to see the series placing so much emphasis on the moral relativity of this conflict.

In many ways, issue #2 is a very straightforward affair. Now that the X-Men have wrapped up the planning stage and thoroughly betrayed Beast, they begin their all-out assault on Attilan. What follows is mostly a series of fight sequences as the X-Men exact vengeance for months of suffering at the expense of Inhuman-kind. One of the nice things about this story is that it acknowledges the militaristic side of the X-Men for once. One of the things that sets them apart from other Marvel teams is that these are characters who have been trained from puberty to fight in a war. They're soldiers as much as anything else, but you don't see that often enough.
